Message about togetherness and unity in Kingston

Kingston’s 2025 recent celebrations, like the Rivers Culture Festival and Kingston Carnival, have been powerful reminders of what makes our borough so special. These events have filled our streets with colour, energy, and joy—showcasing not just our rich cultural diversity, but also the unity and warmth that define our community. This spirit of togetherness is the very heart of our borough, and it is something of which we are deeply proud.

Recent marches and protests have caused concern. We want to face complex challenges we are all currently experiencing by staying united and preventing division and spreading of hatred in our community.  Our message is clear—hate has no home here.

As the Kingston Faith & Belief Forum, representing a wide range of faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds, we are committed to supporting every member of our community. We are working together with local partners and residents to build a borough that is welcoming, safe and inclusive for all. We believe that by coming together, we can strengthen the bonds between us, protect what makes Kingston unique, and encourage greater understanding across all our communities.

Everyone should feel they belong in Kingston, regardless of background or belief. We encourage our residents and communities to stand with us against hate and division, and to celebrate the diversity that makes our borough so vibrant. Together, we can continue to build a community where differences are embraced, and every voice is valued.

If you have experienced or witnessed hate crime, please don’t stay silent—report it and help us keep Kingston safe for all. You can find guidance and report hate crime via Kingston Council’s website.

Looking ahead we are planning events to celebrate Inter Faith Week, Remembrance Sunday and more. We will share further details of these events soon and welcome everyone to join us.

Let’s continue to work hand in hand for a brighter, safer, and more inclusive Kingston.
